I’m Meera author of Nourish Deliciously a healthy food blog that celebrates all things delicious, balanced and nutritious. The recipes on my blog are inspired and influenced by cuisines from around the world from my travels, good cookbooks and most importantly my mother.
For me nutrition and quality ingredients are very important. I feel so lucky to live in California, surrounded by exceptionally great quality fruits, vegetables and wholesome ingredients that are grown locally and sourced from all over the world.
I choose ingredients that are ethically grown and are sustainable. Processed foods that are ladened with artificial colors, preservatives, refined sugars, trans fats, excess salt and refined grains are almost never used in my cooking.
This blog and our family diet is not strict with any dietary limitations, my recipes are wholesome and mostly plant-based with a sprinkle of sweets, pasture raised dairy and sustainable fish. I am human and believe in treating myself once in a while.
I have been cooking for over two decades. You will see my love for Indian food in my recipes, that’s because it’s the food of my childhood, my heritage. Food I learned my mother and grandmother. Like my mother says, a steaming hot bowl of daal and rice can fix anything.
The recipes may not be authentic, that’s because I love to improvise, play with fusing flavors from different parts of the world and make it my own.
